How to Grill Juicy Boneless Pork Chops
Start with Omaha Steaks extra thick, extra meaty center cut boneless pork chops:
1. Thaw and Season Pork Chops
Thaw pork chops overnight in the refrigerator. When fully thawed, pat dry, drizzle with olive, grapeseed, or canola oil and season generously. Season with your favorite seasoning blend or try Omaha Steaks Signature Seasoning featuring a combination of garlic, onion, and savory spices.
2. Prepare the Grill
Preheat your gas or charcoal grill to medium-high. Before you grill, make sure the grill is clean and oiled. Keep pork chops from sticking to a hot grill by oiling your grates using tongs and a rolled-up paper towel dipped in vegetable oil. Grill spray works too, but you may get flare-ups.
3. Grilling the Pork Chops
It’s time to grill! Place your pork chops directly over the flames to cook. You will grill your pork chops approximately 4-7 minutes per side, depending on the thickness of the pork chops and heat of your grill.
Unlike other grilled meat, it’s okay to flip your pork chops often. Your goal is even cooking without overcooking. To create the signature cross-hatch grill marks turn the pork chop 90-degrees halfway through cooking each side. Make sure to have a meat thermometer handy so you can cook to the perfect internal temperature.
4. Don’t Overcook Pork Chops
It’s a common mistake to overcook a pork chop, resulting in dry, tasteless meat. Properly cooked pork chops should be pink and moist in the center. For incredibly juicy and tender pork chops you want an internal temperature of 145°F.
Remove your chops from the grill when the meat thermometer registers at 140°F or 5°F below the target temperature. The pork chops will continue to cook to 145°F after you remove it from the heat source.
5. Rest for 5 Minutes and Serve
The hard work is now done! Rest the pork chop for 5 minutes after removing from the grill. This allows the juices to redistribute and the pork chop to come to temperature. Slice and, if desired, serve with a chimichurri sauce or Omaha Steaks Sweet & Tangy Barbeque Sauce.
