One thing I would add is putting fashion books on your coffee table like Gucci, Louis Vuitton or Tom Ford – it makes the space look so „wannabe“ and influencer/instagram copy display.
I quite like the old lighting, if used cleverly the mix of old and new can make a place look interesting.

Oh, those horrible fake orchids! Please get rid of them. They are as dated as many items on your 'stylish' list. Rather invest in good original art and sculptures that are not duplicated in every house.
None of your 10. My house is my own home and has things I like. I don’t want to be high end & I prefer a welcoming home.

dome lights are a pain. They are ugly and the dome diminishes the light intensity so everything is so dark. They are not a practical light.

I can not believe there's other people out there that call them "boob lights" hahahah
I have done so many views on YouTube and in person of high end homes that most of these things just appear natural to me.
I have them boob lights, ha never knew that what they were called. They are in the hall, toilet and laundry. Definitely will look for something new 🙂
We have at least 17 “boob lights,” all in our basement. I loved them—because they are flush mount and enable hi wattage— until all y’all started calling them boob lights!
PS we built our home custom in 2010 and personally selected the lights for their functionality.
Girl. I call them nipple lights!! They are awful. I’m in the process of replacing all of mine. There are 12 in my home.

I never knew they were called boob lights Lol yes I' m a renter and have one in the kitchen and bedroom. The owner want no changes to the fixtures what can I do? To not draw attention

Very guilty on the bedroom set 🤦♀️ 4 pieces of large traditional dark brown, solid wood set, but I love them and was a present 🎁. I'm not sure if I like mix and match on the bedroom.
So in order for your house to be considered nice, it has to look expensive… 🤔

The last tip was a personal attack. Maybe when I’m 40 I’ll change twinkle lights for lamps and a big piece of artwork for a clutter of smaller ones

I have the large Amsterdam print (pic in this video)from IKEA and I love it. I feel called out LOL. But I’m still gonna love it.
Some great tips really. Have to be sensible, if you love it keep it but I know I become complacent to things I know look like crap such as the exposed TV cables and the boob lights.

I never thought of them as "boob lights" until I saw them described as such. Now all I see is the boob and nipple. Sigh, I love light fixtures and now I have a good excuse to make some changes.
