  1. I have 3 OCBDs:

White – Everlane (they run small, I'm always one size up here)
    Blue – Banana Republic
    Red/pink – Gitman Bros Vintage

I was a little scared to pull the trigger initially on the GBV shirt given the cost, but I'm glad I did. It really is a huge step up over the other two shirts I have.

  2. Interesting roundup for sure; I've been using Western Rise's button down in place of the standard OCBD.

  3. Can you wear with tie or no tie? I think it’s okay to, but some ppl say no. What do you think?

  4. Complete garbage. Tear the shirt apart and give me a breakdown of the fabric density, the seam thread spacing, and the various other compositions of the shirt. Who TF cares about you searching the internet for brands and then spouting that this is what I think. Give me the technicalities and data. Base your opinion on hard facts, not how you feel or were swayed by marketing. Lame.

  5. I've found that Aberccormbie has affordable OCBDs with very nice thick fabric.

  6. I recommend at least trying Brooks Brothers. Off the rack they have five different fits in all the typical neck sizes and sleeve lengths. Lots of colors and patterns. Perfect collar roll. Made in USA and they run sales quite often. If their off the rack is somehow not good enough they have custom options.

    Do you know
I love to know your thoughts about them

  8. Very interesting ! We await your video about best jock-strap to wear! 😛

  9. I’ve been using Proper Cloth for several years and can attest to the consistency in quality. Also, it’s worth noting their customer service is great. I’ve returned and altered many of their shirts without issue and they are constantly upping their game with new services.

  10. I have been wearing lands end ocbs forever! I am 6 ft 2 in and 165 and the slim fit is my go to! They are great value! Wash well! Many sizes! TOTALLY RECOMMEND! I only wish they were made in the USA.

  11. charles tyrwhitt?

  12. I stray from ties when I wear button down collars. In my opinion, it clashes with the formality of the tie and the informality of the button down collar

  13. I dry clean all my nice clothes. I'm upgrading my wardrobe and it's costly so I think I'll be dry cleaning more often.

  14. I'm looking for European shops that sell ocbd's *with extra long sleeves*, anyone?

  15. Be interested to see how some of the "tech" options compare, eg Wool & Prince.

  16. Underrated channel & content. Been waiting for an informative piece on Oxford shirts! Thank you

  17. A few days ago I was able to purchase a blue and pink (already had a white) ocbd and I feel complete

  18. Great vid, Jon! I'm going to buy a custom from Ratio!

Also, can you do a video about tie knot and collar combinations?

  19. Good video, my favore type of shirts

  20. Anyone tried Todd Snyder OCBD?

  21. If you are in really low budget, Muji is a good option too, personally I think they are even better than Uniqlo.

  22. It’s Oxford “Cloth” Button Down…please, get it right. Like saying Levi’s 5 “Zero” 1.

  23. You must have a great closet by now

  24. Try thrift stores, Goodwil, I pickup 7 BB pinpoint oxfords for .99 each…that was the best deal usually they run around 4.99 each.

  25. can you do a comfort oriented WFH uniform?

  26. does anyone have an opinion on Massimo Dutti OCBD's?

  27. Kamakura Shirts does custom too. They have many options for formal and casual formal for button down and non button down

  28. Always on the lookout for a longer shirttail and double buttons at the cuff. I freaking hate a large cuff opening without the option to fasten to the second button. Tons of makers don't include it. Drives me nuts. Just makes a person seem unkempt like a too-long sleeve on a jacket/blazer.

  29. Dang, that was detailed. I don't own OCBD yet. Have a bunch of dress shirts from Express but I have been thinking about getting one of these for a casual look. Great info. Thanks.

  30. What are the 4 most versatile colors?

  31. Great rundown 👍 think it is worth mentioning the effect that the collar will have on the versatility of the shirt. You need a proper (longer collar) if you want to use it for more formal looks (with a tie or even with a jacket). Some of the shorter and more casual OCDBs like from Uniqlo really should only be used casually 🙂👍

  32. Oxford cloth, not cotton.

  33. Pet peeve: unbuttoning the effing button down collar.

  34. I noticed you did a video on teddy Stratford a while back but don't seem to have mentioned them since unless I'm missing it. You seemed to give them a pretty favorable review so is there a reason they wouldn't be in this round up? I know they are technically not a button down since they do the zipper thing but still. Did you end up deciding that the conventional shirts are just better or would you still wear a TS shirt and how does it compare to some of these other brands in the same price range?

  35. OCBD Oxford Cloth Button Down

  40. Hard to beat a true Oxford from Dillards. Roundtree and York golf series. Only available in the fall. Very thick and plenty of sizes to dial it in.
