  1. I've been eyeing some Thursday boots that are waterproof and also suede. Now you're making me second guess if they'll keep looking nice. I hate wearing rubber rain boots because my feet get sweaty and cold plus not comfortable to walk in – so I got some beautiful leather booties from Blondo that are also rainproof. It was great to be able to wear cute booties that I can easily walk and dance around in, wear with a dress, but also keep my feet dry.

Somehow it's nice to see that not everyone lives under the sun ☀ thanks for making rain styles ☔

  3. May I ask why you are no longer shopping at Zara? Just curious…

  4. Yay! Thank you for this, I'm definitely one of the desperate Seattleites that asked you for this!

  5. OMG that COS coat is divine!

  6. OMG!! Thank you for recommending the Rains brand. I just found one on Ebay for $41!😍

  7. Love your raincoat !

  8. We’re hoping and praying for rain here in California after a terrible hot and dry summer and autumn, and our still-burning wildfires. I just can’t wear hoods, I have a really small head and face, so they always cover my eyes and nose. So, I do wear those goofy rainhats, I’d rather look goofy and get my exercise in, than let vanity dictate what I do. I love your videos, Emma, because they’re about comfortable, practical style.

  9. Emma, the Chloe boots aren’t rubber – they are plastic (PVC), an extremely inferior and not-environmentally-friendly material made from petrochemicals. Rubber is natural latex from a tree, a renewable resource, and is superior in every way!

  10. I just cracked up! Starts with Z and ends with ara…and if you cracked that code well done! You are hilarious! Love your humour! Your success Emma is so so well deserved! Your videos is content that is helpful! Thanks thanks thanks 🙂 love from Germany

  11. Thank you – very helpful video! Question on the Cos raincoat please – I’m 5’8” and a size 12, do you think a medium would be about right size-wise? Also, thoughts on whether it could possibly be worn over a lighter wool coat – like on a day where there is a threat of rain but not chucking it down so you don’t want to go all guns blazing with the wet weather gear in case it doesn’t rain at all, but prepared in case it starts!! Thank you 😘😘x

  12. Me watching from south east asia country where people usually just wear rubber slippers and roll up our jeans/trousers during rain: 👁️👄👁️💧

  13. Thank goodness for this video 🙏 so relatable as I also live in the UK in fact 20 min from London by fast track train service so I’m quite near to you Emma! I highly recommend Burberry taffeta trench coat. The material is waterproof, but it still looks as classic Burberry coat. And it comes with hood. It’s way more cheaper version to gabardine trench coats however I noticed huge price increases since I bought mine 2 years ago. Try looking 2nd hand as I do not believe it’s worth it’s ‘new’ price tag its better to pay full price for gabardine trench coat instead or head to Bicester Village if you live close enough.

  14. I had exact same handbag raincoat from Shopbob for my Celine Nano bag and it looked awful on the bag so I have sold it on eBay. Good idea but not a good design. I believe if handbag came with a raincoat that is designed just for that particular shape then it would work😉
I use Longchamp top handle bag in rain on crook of my arm with hand that hold an umbrella. It really works. Gosh you made me lough about the umbrellas 😂!

  15. Love the way you present in your videos. You sound so natural and approachable. Its great to listen to you.

    Praise to the good brolly!

  16. Norwegian Rain has sone great rainwear. Pricey but worth it.

  17. I love the Rains bags too…I have a couple of their bum bags and great for any bad weather! Great suggestions!

  18. what an amazing work you're doing, thank you very much. I'm following just for a week now and I've learnt so much since.

  19. Love love love this video! Finally a YouTuber with good senses and practical tips. More of videos like this please

  20. Regarding the umbrella carnage 😂😂 there’re some umbrellas which allow you to flip back the ribs with no damage if they were blown outwardly by the strong wind. I purchased several one from Taiwan that are extras light and compacted, but sturdy. It’s a kingdom of umbrella and it rains a lot there.

  21. Hi. Why can’t I order Arket to be delivered to USA? Is this forever or temporary? I love your style!

  22. They do offer re-proofing! I'm not sure if it's free though!

I am quite sure you should not use the spray protector on wool – because wool is water and dirt resistant because of the linol, which is a fat (maybe i didnt chose the correct words, i am german). On my spray protector it says you shouldnt use it on wool, it can damage it. Please check out on your protector before using it on wool

  24. A great rainy essentials haul..esp the tip on the umbrella ☔. Where is your small tan bag from in this footage please as looking for exactly that style..small,across body yet with handle too

  25. Hi Emma, this is a great video with genuinely useful content – thank you – and I absolutely fell in love with the long Cos raincoat and bought one myself, and it's beautiful. However, the cape bit – the bit I loved – drives me to distraction – every time I try and put the coat on I have a struggle to get the right arms in the right sides of the cape, and the side ties are always untying and with only one button attaching it at the back, if i don't do the whole coat up, the cape just slips off my shoulders when I wear. Please tell me I'm missing some trick I'm missing to attach it more fully!

  26. Swims is also a good option, they also have warmer water proof jackets, quality umbrellas and boots.

  27. So handy at the moment for us here in Victoria – winter ❄️. 🇦🇺 Australia

  28. yes Rains ! 😍 I've got the "fishtail" long coat in black & jacket & trousers for mucky dog walks 😁

  29. Great tips! Thank you! Umbrella Carnage. 🤣😂

Great video, Emma! 😁💕 Although I might say that I don’t object to the rain cover for bags! There were a few times in my life when the weather person didn’t predict the rain and it rained, and I got caught out with a nice outfit and expensive bag. I was looking for a plastic shopping bag to cover my expensive bag, lol. 😫😫😫 With that said, I will always carry it in my bag just in case it rains unexpectedly. 💐❤️ Love your channel.

  31. Excellent video. Thanks for all the great suggestions. That Loewe bag sure is beautiful.🥰

  32. When I worked at a dry cleaners, we waterproofed raincoats for quite a bit of money by spraying them outside (because of the stink) with Scotchguard. Spray on a really heavy coat of spray so that it looks wet, really wet, then leave outside to dry.

  33. Now if only I can figure out how to cover myself up in Florida rain. Trench coats and boots don't work here. It's just too hot. We would melt under them. We usually just carry an umbrella and walk around in flip flops cause they dry out quickly.

  34. 🤣 The Umbrella 🌂 "brolly" segment had me in stitches. I have the 'inflatable ' version too. Actually, I have 2, 1 in the car & 1 in my purse.
Thanks for the other bits about rainy day gear.

  35. I’m curious why you shop at mango and not at Zara anymore

  36. Hi Emma, great video thanks for all the tips and recommendations. I just wanted to ask if you still have the link for the amazon umbrella you use, as its not working when i click on it from you description box.

  37. Thank you I found his very useful 🌨🌧❄️

    Great video! Thank you.

  39. You quickly learn to use only cheap umbrellas in NYC. No umbrella survives long no matter how sturdy and well made. So good outerwear is essential. Good tips.

  40. Thanks for your recomendations.

  41. Hi Emma what make is the umbrella. The link doesn't seem to work to Amazon. Xx

  42. Hey Emma, I love your video's! I could not follow the link to the umbrella. What is the brand?

  43. I live in the coastal region of Northern California. We are used to rain. Funny, we wear a lot of hoodies.

  44. I thought you would talk about Barbour since It is British. Is there any reason?

  45. I love your sense of humour Emma 🙂 you’re so funny and entertaining without trying to be. I’m moving to the UK from Australia soon so this is great advice. I don’t even own a raincoat at the moment!!

  46. Real, practical advice. So many people here are already saying it so I won’t dwell On it. Thank you!!! All of my trenchcoats are vintage London fog with wool liners. One of them is a lighter coat with a hood and balloon sleeves! Just a thin liner and lighter weight so perfect for spring and early fall. I love the brand and it’s affordable quality. I will be spraying my coats this spring and before the winter. I live in a northwestern state in the US where we get a lot of wet weather. I love trenchcoats, even though no one here wears them, because they protect you so much more than the average coat!
