  1. I’ve never made bean with bacon soup, but after watching this video – it’s what’s for dinner tonight along with a fresh baked loaf of homemade sourdough bread!!! Thank you

  2. Add some chicken broth. Yummy

  3. I'm all in for Friday night videos…..

  4. Bean and bacon soup is my favorite soup. It is healthy and simple, thanks for sharing, I will be making that for sure

  5. This looks and sounds delicious!!

  6. This looks so delicious! I might just make some for Sunday supper!
We grew up enjoying Campbells Bean and Bacon soup. I have made my own, with beef bacon, and hickory smoke seasoning. I used a can of navy, a Campbell's Tomato soup, some cooked carrots and a couple of beef bacon rashers with hickory seasoning. It came out great.

  7. Your drains must stink.

  8. Dehydrated tomatoes or small can Tom sauce would enrich that soup too! Yum looks delicious

  9. See the cherry tomatoes I would have cooked down with bacon

  10. I am a new subscriber to your channel within the past 2 months, and I just can’t get enough. I am ready to jump into canning with both feet. We are in the same age range so I have the time to learn. I have purchased a few canning “bibles” from Ball.
I do have a question regarding heat source. My cooktop – attached to my oven and making it a stove, is electric, and I wanted to know if this is a proper heat source ? I am also intrigued by the portable cook top that you use at times on your counter.
Would this be sufficient to use with the canner that you have, and I have purchased?
This little voice in my head tells me that canning may be an art that could be very handy in the days ahead.
Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge with us “ city slickers “. Carol Menton

  11. Yum! Beef Bacon please! Blessings 🥰

  12. The soup looks delicious! I love bacon 🙂

  13. Ok so I made my first chicken soup after watching your video.
Mine looks more like beef veggie in color. I wonder if I turned it darker with too many carrots??

  14. I can smell that soup and bread! Yummmmmm!

  15. I love that you call it supper. I have called it that since childhood (I'm 73). It is what the farm families called the evening meal instead of dinner. Maybe it's a Great Depression term, but not everyone uses it. Makes me feel at home and the soup looks delicious.

  16. Thank You so much for bringing us this video, we always had ham and beans in the fall at Masonic Halls but I never thought of bacon. Everything is better with bacon and I buy it every time it is on sale and throw it in the freezer.

  17. Looks yummy. Great recipe.

  18. I canned 15 bean and ham soup yesterday. When they came out they had liquid and this morning all the liquid was absorbed by the beans. Should I put it on my shelf and add water when ready to use, or should I pitch it?

  19. I'm excited to see how you use your food storage. This was wonderful and so motivating.

  20. That soup begs for a pan of cornbread!! Cool rainy day here today… PERFECT day for a pot of soup or chili, using my home-canned beans!

  21. Love love love this video!! Great to see how a meal is all put together!

  24. Thank you for the recipe! I think we just might have that meal today on a Thursday…Please keep this type of meal coming..I don't know a lot of meals to make from my pantry….Your videos are great Pam~

  25. That does look delicious! I personally don't add bay leaf pieces, only whole leaf, with my luck I wouldn't be able to find them all after and I'd choke on them! LOL Thank you for the idea! Can't wait to try this.

  26. I love that you have such a sense of humor , and you always give Jim his credit for helping! Love it! ❤️

  27. That's super great to show a recipe with using the canned beans! Looks fantastic!

  28. I have ordered my freeze dryer and I'm wondering, can you freeze dry this recipe?

  29. Another great recipe! Thanks!

  30. hi, what can i do to beans to make them not react so gassy for me and can I use smoked turkey instead of pork? ( i am allergic to pork products) thank you for all you do. Blessings
