Incredible and extremely rare taxidermy display of two giant Maine Moose engaged in a locked antler battle! This display entitled “The Final Charge – State of Maine Locked Moose” was developed in partnership with the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife and is only one of a few such displays in all of North America. The decomposed bodies of these two moose were found in New Sweden, Maine in 2006. They had died as a result of their antlers becoming inseparably locked in a battle for supremacy. This display was unveiled at L.L.Bean, Freeport, Maine on July 4, 2009. After the end of July, the exhibit will be on permanent display at L.L.Bean’s Freeport, Maine Flagship store.
